You get what you pay for (sometimes), and in this case yes. Inexpensive with acceptable optics for the price.Oct 26, 2013
By 1GoodDog I use this on my AR for shooting at the range.
First the bad news: (1) insufficient eye relief. Had to mount it all the way at the back of the rail and I still lose a little exit pupil, unless I want to remove my rear pop-up sight, which I don't yet. (2) The optics induce some parallax when the head shifts left to right. I bough a fixed magnification scope to try and avoid this. (3) The illumination is a nifty gimmick but truly not useful for daytime range shooting. Might be helpful at night if it doesn't overwhelm the scene.
Now the good news. Once I zeroed it in, it has held the zero very well. I can be very accurate with it at 50y or 100y with my AR. The center dot is nice and small to avoid blocking view of the target. I love the bullet drop markings even though they'll irrelevant for my AR at 100. I might transfer this scope to my 22LR which desperately needs bullet drop markings in the scope for 75y and 100y. The unit seems solid overall.
For the price I paid, i am extremely happy with the scope and enjoy using it every time I am at the range. I would highly recommend it for someone looking for a budget 4x tactical scope. If/when willing to pay more, I would seek out longer eye relief.
